Effect of Supplementation of Thyme and Turmeric Essential Oils on Hemato-biochemical Parameters of Japanese Quails

This experiment was undertaken to assess the influence of thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and turmeric (Curcuma longa) essential oils on hematobiochemical parameters Japanese quails. One hundred eighty, 6-day old quail chicks were subjected five weeks trial. Quail distributed at random into dietary treatment groups each with three replicates 12 quails per treatment. Quails T0 group fed diet without (Basal diet), T1 basal 0.2 % oil, T2 0.3% T3 combination 0.125 oil 0.075 oils, T4 0.075% oils. The results revealed that supplemented had significantly higher (p<0.05) red blood cell count, packed volume, haemoglobin, mean corpuscular serum protein, albumin globulin high-density lipoprotein concentrations best found in group. Supplementing lowered uric acid, creatinine, total bilirubin, glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, SGOT SGPT activity.
